Continuous Agile Product Development

Brookings Institution

Overview

I took over the Brookings Institution account as their website redesign was launching and successfully shifted the project from a traditional waterfall redesign process to an agile, continuous product development approach. I implemented a sprint format that included sprint reviews, deployments, and regular stakeholder calls. My role encompassed managing feature enhancements, quality assurance, metric reporting, and user research, while using a Kanban board for project tracking and closely monitoring the project budget as time and materials.

The Challenge

Balancing a flexible continuous delivery environment while ensuring that we stayed on track with our time and materials contract required careful budget monitoring and control. I employed burn down chart methodology to track our progress and made necessary adjustments to our approach as the project evolved. Managing multiple stakeholders, coordinating across teams, and integrating new features without compromising the site’s stability added complexity to the project, necessitating agile problem-solving and effective communication.

The Outcome

Through in-depth trust and effective collaboration, we established a strong, ongoing relationship with the client. The continuous delivery approach allowed for a seamless integration of new features and timely resolution of issues, resulting in a stable, user-friendly website. The project’s success has led to a sustained partnership, with Brookings continuing to rely on our team for their ongoing digital needs. Check out our wins below!
